Mercedes-Benz India for the January-December 2024 (CY2024) period has achieved sale of 19,565 units, a growth of 12.4% over the previous year (CY2023) despite facing challenging market headwinds, the company said on Thursday.
“This outstanding sales result was driven by a combination of newly-launched and existing vehicles and an enhanced retail customer experience. Demand persisted for Mercedes-Benz across its entry, core, and top-end vehicle (TEV) segments, with strong performance from new as well as existing products,” said Santosh Iyer, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
“Much of the growth came from top-end vehicles. We are confident of consolidating the market gains and continue this growth in 2025,” he said.
In 2024, Mercedes-Benz launched 14 new products, including nine top-end vehicles in the Indian market. For 2025 (CY2025) the company said it would launch eight new vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz on Thursday introduced two new BEVs in the Indian market comprising the 5-Seater ‘Made in India’ EQS 450 SUV priced at ₹1.28 crore and the off roadster G-Class in its BEV version, the G 580 with EQ Technology at ₹3 crore.
The company said it has reached a milestone of selling 2,00,000 cars in India since 1994.
Out of that 100,000 cars were sold in the last six years alone (2019-2024).
The company said it will consolidate the freshest product portfolio it boasts across entry, core and TEV segments.
