Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet saw two of their most prominent alumni across the globe recalling their days at school and launching the ‘Flight of the Eagle’, a coffee table book, commemorating the school’s centenary.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen went down memory lane recalling their days at the school, a sought-after institution for several decades till the emergence of numerous educational institutions in the city.
Mr. Satya Nadella returned to the school 45 years after passing out from it on its 101st anniversary. He recalled how he joined in the 7th grade after his bureaucrat-father was transferred to Hyderabad from New Delhi. A lot has changed in the 40 plus years, he said.
Addressing a small gathering consisting of selected alumni, students and the faculty, he recalled how his hostel days at the school exposed him to new aspects of life, including literature. He remembered a few of his hostel mates and the school days stating that it infused lot of confidence in him.
The celebrated face of Microsoft further said that Artificial Intelligence may surpass human capabilities in Mathematics and reasoning but the relevance of school will continue.
Mr. Narayen described the school atmosphere that played a key role in how it shaped leadership qualities. He also explained what all-round education meant for him.
The ‘Flight of the Eagle’ — a coffee table book — brought out marking the centenary of the school highlights its legacy and societal impact.
