Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone Zonal Development Commissioner Srinivas Muppaala on Wednesday said that the VSEZ has recorded exports to the tune of ₹1,27,744 crore during the first half of 2024-25 (April-September) registering a growth of 22% over the previous year for the corresponding period.

Of this, services exports are ₹78,376 crore and merchandise exports are ₹49,368 crore.

During July to September, two new SEZ unit proposals (each one in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) have been approved, and these units will make an investment of ₹11 crore and provide employment to 305 people, he added.

The approved units are – Innocito Private Limited for rendering of IT/IT enabled Services in Wipro Limited Special Economic Zone, Visakhapatnam and Terafina Services India Pvt. Ltd for rendering IT services in Telangana.

VSEZ has attracted investment of ₹1,12,276 crore and generated employment of 6,18,551 people as on March 31, 2024, he said in an official release here.
