Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced the India launch of its All-New Camry hybrid electric sedan here on Wednesday.
According to TKM, the new Camry Hybrid Electric Vehicle, priced at ₹48 lakh (ex showroom), is equipped with advanced 5th generation hybrid technology, delivering significantly improved efficiency and enhanced performance. Also, the new model comes with cutting-edge safety features, elevated exteriors and interiors, seamless technology integration, thereby delivering the unique aspirations of the consumers.
New Camry, powered by Toyota’s 5th Generation Hybrid Technology and a 2.5L Dynamic Force Engine, comes with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery, which provides fuel efficiency of 25.49 km/l, claimed the company.
India remained a crucial market, and Toyota’s product strategy aligned with the country’s national priorities to lower the carbon emissions and achieve energy security goals, said Masakazu Yoshimura, Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) while unveiling the new car Camry.
Towards this, Toyota has embraced the adoption of a multiple-pathway approach to drive clean mobility and promote mass electrification with greater agility and speed, he added.
The introduction of the All-New Camry Hybrid Electric Vehicle, being a green mobility offering, would continue to further strengthen the company’s contributions toward building a futuristic carbon-free, happy society, Mr. Yoshimura further said.
The Japanese auto major said it has been selling Camry in the last four decades and has 25 million customers in 100 countries. The Camry debuted in the Indian market in 2002 and since then has sold 17,900 units in the country.
