Ajay Seth gets additional charge of the Revenue Department as Malhotra named RBI chief

With Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra set to take charge as Reserve Bank of India Governor on Wednesday, the Centre has assigned the additional charge of the Revenue Department to Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth. The decision of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet kicks in with immediate effect, and will be effective “till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier”, as per the order issued on Tuesday. Mr. Seth has been the Secretary, Economic Affairs, in the Finance Ministry, since April 2021.
