State Bank of India (SBI) has raised ₹50,000 crore through domestic bonds so far during FY25, the lender said in its regulatory filing.
The bond issuances include ₹30,000 crore in long-term, tier 2 bonds worth ₹15,000 crore and AT1 bonds amounting to ₹5000 crore. The AT1 bonds and Tier 2 bonds were issued with a call option after 10 years and on the anniversary day in the subsequent years.
All these issues were oversubscribed more than 2 times against the respective base issue size according to the filing. Provident funds, pension funds, insurance companies, mutual funds, and banks were among the major investors in these issuances.
Wider participation and heterogeneity of bids demonstrated the trust investors placed in the country’s largest Bank, said SBI Chairperson C.S Setty.
